Overview
Impatica for PowerPoint makes it easy for your students to access narrated video presentations from your web site, e-mail and or BlackBoard learning content management system regardless of the type of platform, internet device and or plug-ins accessible to your students.
Impatica for PowerPoint does this by allowing you to simply convert a custom created PowerPoint file into a compressed format file, “optimized” for streaming over the Internet. Upon the custom created PowerPoint file becoming optimized for streaming over the Internet, the “Impaticized” file will be 95% smaller than a PowerPoint HTML (web site format) file.
An Impaticized file will allow for multiple types of delivery options to be accomplished. These delivery options are as follows:
- Online (as an HTML page)
- Embedded within an existing Web page
- Within a learning content management system (i.e.; Blackboard, WebCt and Desire2Learn)
- Offline (i.e.; on a CD-ROM)
- As an attachment to an e-mail, a link in an e-mail or as a streaming e-mail
Impaticized files will play in any Java 1.1 environment, including those that are listed below:
- Windows
- Macintosh
- Sun Solaris
- Linux
- Unix
- OS/2
- Set-top Boxes
- Many Hand Held Devices (i.e.; Blackberries)
Impatica for PowerPoint supports most features of PowerPoint, including those of text, graphics, transitions, animation effects and narration. See the Impatica for PowerPoint User’s Gudie and or instructions for how to use Impatica for PowerPoint-Supported and Unsupported Features (for access, click on the link below).
