Getting Started

There are many different software packages that create presentations. The most commonly used presentation software is Microsoft PowerPoint. You may or may not have a PowerPoint icon on your dekstop. If you do have a PowerPoint icon on your desktop, double-click the icon to start the program. If you do not have PowerPoint icon on your desktop, follow the instructions below to start PowerPoint. If you cannot open PowerPoint using the instructions below, verify that PowerPoint is installed on your computer.

Starting PowerPoint on a PC

  1. Go to the Start Menu.
  2. Choose Programs.
  3. Choose PowerPoint. If you do not see PowerPoint in the list of available programs, look for Microsoft Office. PowerPoint may be listed under the subheading Microsoft Office.

Starting PowerPoint on a Mac

  1. Open a Finder window.
  2. Click the Applications icon.
  3. Click the PowerPoint icon in the Finder window.
