Creating Organization Charts
Organizations Charts can be created and customized to present hierarchical relationships (i.e.; department managers and employees within a company).
Inserting the Organization Chart into the Slide…
- Click on Insert on the command menu. The Insert drop down menu will be displayed.
- Click of Picture located on the Insert drop down menu.
- Click on Organization Chart located on the Picture drop down menu. An Organization Chart will be displayed for you to customize (see below). An Organization Chart editing dialog box will also be displayed. This dialog box will be accessible to you as long as the outlined non-printing border and sizing handles are displayed. Click outside of the box to exit from the editing mode.

Resizing the Organization Chart
- Click on the Organization Chart. The non-printing borders and editing dialog box will be displayed.

- Place the cursor on the appropriate non-printing border lines’ circles/dots until the cursor turns into a double sided arrow line. Drag the cursor up or down to lengthen the chart display and or left or right to widen or narrow the chart display.

Moving/Relocating the Organization Chart on the Slide
- Click on the Organization Chart. The non-printing borders and editing dialog box will be displayed.

- Place the cursor anywhere along the non-printing border lines until the cursor turns into an asterisks.

- Left click on the mouse, hold and drag the Organization Chart to the position on the slide where you want it to be placed. Release the left click of the mouse.
Selecting the Style of the Organization Chart
- Click on the Organization Chart. The non-printing borders and editing dialog box will be displayed.

- Click on the
(AutoFormat) button located on the editing dialog box’s toolbar. The Organization Chart Style Gallery dialog box will be displayed.

The Organization Chart Style Gallery dialog box menu list will be set to “Default” (highlighted on the list). Select the format for your organization chart to be display in by clicking on your selection and then
. Your Organization Chart’s diagram will be displayed in the format of your choice (example below set to “3-D Color).
Changing the Layout of the Elements of an Organization Chart
- Click on the chart to display and have access to the editing dialog box.
- To change how the chart’s elements relationships are displayed, click on chart’s box element that is to serve as the manager and then click on
located on the Editing Dialog display box. Select the type of relationship presentation you want to be displayed (i.e; Standard, Both hanging, Left Hanging and Right Hanging).
Note: The four types of Relationship Presentation along with examples of each are listed below.

Inserting Additional Elements in the Organization Chart
You may add additional elements to the chart i.e.; co-workers, assistants and or subordinates.
- Click on the chart to display and have access to the editing dialog box.

- Click on the element you wish to add the additional element too.
