What is podcasting?

Podcasting a way of publishing sound files to the internet. A podcast is a type of RSS feed that allows the transfer of multimedia files. A podcast is similar to subscribing to a newsfeed. Instead of articles being pushed, it is in the form of audio.

What do I need?

You need software that acts as a podcatcher. When people think of podcasting, they immediately think of iPods. However an iPod is not required. iTunes is one of the most popular podcatchers. Below are listed the most commonly used podcatcher.

How do I receive podcasts?

Add the following address to your podcatcher:

http://tac.nvcc.edu/podcasts/index.xml

Your podcatcher will then automatically check our site for updates every time you run it. To add the address to iTunes, click Advanced on the top menu bar and select Subscribe to Podcast. When the text box appears, copy or type the address above.
