Publish Survey

Desktop Client Users may not publish surveys. The Publish option does not work in the Desktop Client software. Attempting to publish will result in an error message. Only the College WebSurveyor Administrator can publish surveys.

Users may create and save surveys using the WS Desktop Client only.

Steps to Publish Survey

  1. After the survey is complete, select the File menu option and then select Save.
  2. Selecting Save will open a window to allow the entry of a file name.
  3. Enter the desired survey name and select Save to save the survey.
  4. Saving the survey will create a .wsx file. The saved survey file can then be emailed to the College WebSurveyor Administrator for publishing with a CC: to OIR.
  5. After the College WebSurveyor Administrator publishes your survey, the administrator will email you with the unique URL for your survey.
  6. You can send the URL to participants by the following:
    1. Copy and paste the URL into the body of your invitation email.
    2. Create a web site and place the link on the web site.

TIP: No matter how you are sending the URL to your participants, be sure to preview it or send it to yourself first to double check the link to the survey, as well as to check the language and format of the document.

*Before the final survey can be published, the survey must be sent to OIR for final review.

NOTE: If you attempt to publish the survey, you will get the following message:

"Your Survey could not be published. The following error was returned.
Account list retrieval failed."

Remember to email the College WebSurveyor Administrator to publish your survey.
