Create Survey

Desktop Client Users

It is strongly recommended that users consult the Office of Institutional Research (OIR) for guidance on appropriate survey content prior to developing surveys. Coordination with OIR may prevent duplication of effort and avoid saturating respondents with too many survey requests.

For additional help with survey design, click the Resources button on the menu bar.

Survey Creation Options

1. When you log into the Desktop Client, you will find the following options:

  1. Open an existing survey
  2. Create a new survey
    • From a template
    • Based on an existing survey
    • Blank survey
  3. Open a sample survey with real data
  4. More Information

2. Select Create a new survey > Blank survey.

    3. From the question list, click Add button and choose a question style from the left panel.

    4. Click OK.

    5. Type the question text and click the Add button to add responses.

    6. Click OK.

    7. Repeat step 3 until you finish creating the survey.

    8. Save the survey as .wsx format.

    9. Click Preview to view your survey.

    10. To add survey title, click the Details link on the left menu.

    11. To adjust the order of questions, click the arrow on the right side panel.

    12. Contact the College WebSurveyor administrator at the Technology Applications Center to publish your survey at yzhou@nvcc.edu.
