Overview
The release of Microsoft Office 2007 includes some enhanced and new features:
1) Microsoft Office Fluent User Interface (UI)
2) New file format
Previous releases of Microsoft Office applications offered users the opportunity to develop their work by using a system of menus, toolbars, task panes, and dialog boxes. In the Office Fluent User Interface (UI) work environment, the traditional menus and toolbars have been replaced by the Ribbon, Microsoft Button, Contextual Tabs and Galleries.
The new MS Office 2007 documents/files are saved with a new and different file type format than earlier versions of MS Office saved document/files. The new file format is based on the XML format and it is called the Microsoft Office Open XML. The file’s format applies to all MS Office 2007 Word, Excel and PowerPoint document files.
