Inserting Graphics
Dreamweaver allows you to easily insert graphics into a web page you are constructing. In this exercise, you will insert graphics in tables cells of the web page you are constructing (You created a table with various cells when you completed the "Creating Design Tables" exercise of the tutorial).

1. To insert a graphic in the Header table cell, first make sure the cursor is in the left-hand table cell. Then using the Properties
Inspector, configure the left cell so Horz is"Left" and Vert is "Top."
2. Next, either go to the Insert/Image menu or click the "Image" button on the Insert palette. A dialog box will appear where you can access and select the "headerGraphic" tutorial file located in the folder you created to store the tutorial files. Once selected, click "OK." In the next dialog box that appears, type in text that will serve as
the "Alt Tag" for the graphic (ex. "NOVA Logo"). Once done, click "OK." The graphic has been inserted into the Header.
3. You will now insert graphics that can serve as the navigation links between pages within a web site you could create. So first, make sure the cursor is in the top cell of the left-hand column of the Body table. Then, once again, either go to the Inset/Image menu or click the Image button on the Insert palette. In the dialog box, access, select, and insert the "Button1" graphic. Make sure you provide it with an "Alt Tag."
4. Next, place the cursor in the middle row cell. Then proceed to either go to the Insert/Image menu or click the Image button on the Insert palette. In the dialog box, access, select, and insert the "Button2" graphic. Once again, make sure you provide the graphic with an "Alt Tag."
5. Finally, place the cursor in the bottom row cell. Then either go to the Insert/Image menu or click the Image button. In the dialog box, access, select, and insert the "Button3" graphic, making sure you provide this graphic also with an "Alt Tag." All the graphics for this page have been inserted.
Learn how to modify the button graphics so they can be transformed into "relative hyperlinks" by clicking here or the "Creating Relative Links" button on the tutorial navigation bar.
