Archiving a Course
Archiving a course preserves a copy of the course for future reference. Archiving preserves all data, including student data. Please remember that if you re-import an archived course into Blackboard, it will re-create accounts for any student in the archived course who has since left the college. Archiving allows you to keep a complete record of what took place in a course, but it is not the best way to keep a copy of a course that you wish to use again. Archived courses are created as .zip files that you can save to your hard drive or a CD.
Choose which course you wish to archive
From Control Panel
1. Under Course Options , select Archive Course.

2. Click on Archive.

3. Click Submit.

4. The next screen shows a report on the archive process. If Blackboard encountered any problems when archiving your course, they will be listed here. Click OK to continue.

5. To save the archived file to your hard drive, click on the link from the Export/Archive Manager screen.

6. Select Save to Disk.
7. The file will be packaged into a .zip file and downloaded to your hard drive. You may burn the zip file to a CD if you choose to do so.
8. Click OK to return to Control Panel Menu.
