Make an Announcement

From Control Panel

1. Select Announcements, under Course Tools.

2. Select the Add Announcement button.

3. In Announcement Information, enter a title for your message and then type the message in the Text box.

4. In Options, select Yes if you want a permanent announcement that will always appear at the top of the announcements for your class. Select No if you want to continue to add future announcements that will appear at the top of your announcements page. Add any date restrictions you want to place on the announcement. (Tip: Most people do not use date restrictions because they consider the list of announcements to be a permanent record of communication with the class to which both faculty and students can refer as needed.)

5. In  Course Link, you can refer students to a particular course file. This feature is probably more useful to experienced Blackboard users.

6. In Email Announcement, you can select Yes to send the announcement to all course users via college email.

7. Scroll down and select the Submit button to complete the process.

8. Click on OK to confirm receipt and return to Control Panel Menu.
