Learning Fireworks
The purpose of this online tutorial is to provide you with the necessary information and hands-on experience that will enable you to create, edit, and optimize graphics for the web using the Fireworks image editor application.
The online tutorial works in conjunction with the Fireworks application. So to get the most out of the tutorial, make sure Fireworks is installed on your computer and it is launched while using the tutorial. You can obtain a trial version of Fireworks by going to the Macromedia/Adobe Download site.
You will also need to save four graphic files in a folder you will create on your desktop to use this tutorial. These files are provided for you in the tutorial, and you can access them here or click on the "Tutorial Files" link you see on the Navigation Bar to your left. Again, make sure you create a folder on the Desktop of your computer to store the files.
Many of the exercises also have a video component you can view and follow in order to perform the steps that are detailed in the web pages of the tutorial. Just click the button labeled "Exercise Video" to launch the video.
Performing the various exercises presented in the tutorial will allow you to gain a thorough basic understanding of Fireworks, and to also develop skills you can utilize to create graphics for the web using the application.
